Madison’s ‘longest-serving volunteer’ Cathie Coultas remembered for environmental advocacy, civic involvement

MADISON - Lifelong resident Cathie Coultas, known throughout the Rose City for her volunteer work focused on enhancing the environment, local history and more, died on Friday, April 10. She was 88.


Mayor Robert Conley said Coultas was Madison’s “longest-serving volunteer,” having served on the Parks Advisory Committee for 44 years until 2024. She also volunteered for the Garden Club of Madison, Madison Environmental Commission, Madison Historical Society and Madison Rotary.
