Safer Communities

“We can’t build a stronger New Jersey without safer streets. That means standing with law enforcement, strengthening our criminal justice system, and putting victims ahead of criminals.”

– Assemblywoman Aura K. Dunn

Standing Up for Public Safety

New Jersey families deserve peace of mind at home, online, on the road, and in their communities. But reckless bail reforms, early inmate releases, and growing threats like auto theft and fentanyl trafficking have endangered public trust and safety.

As your Assemblywoman, I have consistently fought for common-sense, pro-victim policies that protect our neighborhoods, support law enforcement, and ensure accountability for serious crimes.

My Priorities for Safer Communities

Tougher Penalties for Violent and Repeat Offenders

I support upgrading penalties for the most dangerous crimes, especially when children, vulnerable populations, or repeat offenders are involved.

Protecting Children and Families

I have led efforts to safeguard kids from modern threats, both physical and digital.

Standing With Law Enforcement

I proudly support our law enforcement officers and oppose efforts to undermine their ability to keep our communities safe. Public safety requires trained, trusted officers—not political attacks on those who serve.

Fixing Broken Bail and Release Policies

I helped helped expose the Murphy Administration’s decision to release thousands of inmates early during the pandemic — even those previously denied parole.

  • Nearly 40% of those released had failed to meet parole board standards.

I will continue to fight against bail loopholes that return violent offenders to the streets and undermine the safety of our communities.
