The Chabad Center for Jewish Life in Randolph hosted a building dedication ceremony on January 4, honoring the Hadar Family Foundation and officially renaming its main gathering space as the Hadar Family Hall. The gathering celebrated a legacy of generosity, vision, and community building that continues to shape Jewish life in Randolph and beyond.
More than 120 guests gathered for the dedication, program, and celebratory lunch. The ceremony highlighted the profound impact of the Hadar Family Foundation and its commitment to strengthening Jewish education, engagement, and community infrastructure.
Speakers included New Jersey State Senator Anthony Bucco, New Jersey Assemblywoman Aura Dunn, Morris County Sheriff James Gannon, Morris County Commissioner Deborah Smith, and Randolph Mayor Joe Hathaway. Other community leaders there included Deputy Mayor Mark Forstenhausler, Councilwomen Christine Carey, Denise Thornton, and Joanne Veech, and Councilman Lou Nisivoccia.
Rabbi Avraham Bekhor and Chava Bekhor, co-directors of the Chabad Center for Jewish Life, offered words of inspiration and gratitude. Ms. Bekhor talked about the roots of the Randolph Chabad community, which her parents founded more than 40 years ago. She credited Amir Hadar’s vision and partnership for helping transform it into the thriving, welcoming community and center it is today.
“The dedication of Hadar Family Hall is not only about a beautiful space, but about the people, values, and shared future that fill it with life,” Rabbi Bekhor said.
Amir Hadar added, “My wife and I are honored to help and secure it, but the responsibility to fill it with life, love, meaning, and purpose belongs to all of us,” Amir Hadar said. “May this hall stand as a source of strength and pride.”
The New Jersey State Senate and General Assembly passed a resolution that was presented to the Hadar family by Senator Bucco and Assemblywoman Dunn, recognizing the foundation’s outstanding contributions to the Randolph community and its enduring support of Jewish life and communal growth.
